Cradle Mountain is one of the most beautiful places in Tasmania and a must-visit for anyone looking for a luxury getaway. With its lush forests, rugged mountains and stunning landscapes, Cradle Mountain offers a unique experience that can’t be found anywhere else in Australia.

How Long Should You Stay in Cradle Mountain?
Visiting Cradle Mountain is a unique luxury experience that should not be rushed. Whilst you can explore the stunning Dove Lake and take in the breathtaking views of Cradle Mountain in one day, it is highly recommended to stay at least two nights to really make the most of your luxury getaway.
With luxury Cradle Mountain accommodations ranging from cosy cabins tucked away in nature or luxury lodges with spectacular views, staying for more than just one night allows you to relax and enjoy all that this beautiful region has to offer. Plus, my favourite accommodation in Cradle Mountain, Tiny Escapes is so breathtaking the only regret you will have is not staying for longer!
Cradle Mountain Hotel Vs Lodge
From 5-star hotels with lavish amenities to cosy cabins nestled into nature’s beauty, these luxury Cradle Mountain Accommodation options promise an experience unlike any other – allowing you to truly appreciate nature’s beauty from its most breathtaking perspective!
Lodges and hotels are both luxury accommodations that offer luxury experiences in Cradle Mountain, but each has its own unique benefits. Hotels typically offer all-inclusive services such as onsite amenities like day spas and games rooms. This is great for those looking for an easy and convenient luxury experience with everything they need close by. Lodges provide the ultimate seclusion, so if you are looking for a romantic getaway, I would definitely opt to stay at a lodge!
Do you need a car in Cradle Mountain?
Unless you plan on booking a guided tour, exploring the spectacular Cradle Mountain region is best done by car.
With its stunning landscapes, lush forests, and rugged mountains, it’s a beautiful part of Tasmania and one you won’t want to miss. Driving around allows you to take in the sights at your own pace and visit areas that are off the beaten track.
Plus, public transport options in Tasmania are limited so having access to a car gives you more freedom and flexibility when visiting Cradle Mountain.
🚗 My top recommendation for car rental is Discover Cars 🚗 I personally used them on my last trip to Cradle Mountain and found them to be the most reasonably priced company in the area!
