Blackjack luxury chalet is my favourite with its open plan living area boasting phenomenal valley vistas from every window; outdoor bath, two bedrooms, indoor fireplace as well as campfire just outside your doorstep – plus free laundry facilities!

For those looking for romance or some soul-restoring solitude, Dogwood Cabin should be top on your ‘must stay’ list with a dreamy yet remote location 15 minutes away from Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre – perfect for reconnecting both body & mind.

The views from the house were phenomenal! Great tiny house with lots of privacy. The firepit outside was great and we really enjoyed the beautiful walk to Kinman Falls through the private forest.

Indulge in endless hours of exploring through private forest paths that lead to Kinman Falls while enjoying barbeque areas surrounded by lush trees and foliage followed by evenings spent bonding around a mesmerizing firepit under a spectacular starry night sky.

Of course, luxury comes at a price. This is one of the most expensive accommodation options but it’s hard to argue that Tiny Escapes Cradle Mountain isn’t worth the cost. (It so is!)

2. Cradle Mountain Highlanders Cottage

Experience the rustic charm of Cradle Mountain Highlanders Cottage, a 9.3-star rated, fully self-contained cabin accommodation situated among tall pines and tranquil lakes in breathtaking Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park!

Unwind outdoors in their communal BBQ area or take advantage of the ample wildlife spotting opportunities right outside your door plus complimentary parking all add up to a truly unique experience at this beautiful location.

Located across the road from the main Information center where you catch the bus into the park, meant it was only a short walk each morning to catch the bus.

And if it’s relaxation time, head down to the lounge bar where cosy fireplaces await and comfortable reading areas perfect for unwinding after long days exploring the nearby national park.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location was great (2 minute drive from the Cradle Mountain visitor centre). Got to see wildlife in and around the hotel. The restaurant food was really good.

Cradle Mountain Hotel offers a more wallet-friendly alternative to the luxurious Peppers resorts. Though not perfect for privacy, as the rooms are pretty close together and the walls are not sound-proof.

This was the best accommodation we stayed at during our trip to Tassie. The room was really spacious, extremely quiet and private & very clean. The kitchenette had sufficient supplies for us to eat in during our stay

Enjoy Happy Hour from 4-5 pm over local produce cooked up at Hellyer’s Restaurant which pairs nicely alongside divine Tasmanian wines before curling up beside the fireplace in their cosy Lounge area.

With friendly staff and ample car parking available, it’ll be hard not to fall in love with this tranquil wilderness village experience!

Loved staying at the Wombat Cabin. Breakfast was provided with many foods available. The evening wildlife encounters were great! The place was very clean. Welcomed the fireplace and lots of available wood plus space heaters were available.

Sure there may not be hot tubs or day spas but Wombat Cabin offers rustic luxury that can’t compare anywhere else! The reviews are near-perfect too!

Relax in one of four cozy wooden cabins, each complete with its own kitchen, terrace and garden views. Two special spa bath cabins offer a luxurious experience while there is also an inviting log fire cabin perfect for snuggling up on cooler nights.

Great location for getting to Cradle Mountain. Enjoyed the rural setting and the pademelons. Spa bath was a bonus after a long day’s hiking

There is no on-site restaurant, but guests who do want to eat out can choose to dine at Lemonthyme Wilderness Retreat or drive into Cradle Mountain for more dining options.

Is Cradle Mountain Worth Visiting?

Cradle Mountain is one of the most beautiful places in Tasmania and a must-visit for anyone looking for a luxury getaway. With its lush forests, rugged mountains and stunning landscapes, Cradle Mountain offers a unique experience that can’t be found anywhere else in Australia.

If you are planning to visit Cradle Mountain around July, you may even see some snowfall in the region, perfect to admire whilst enjoying a glass of wine by the fire in one of these cosy lodges!

Whether you’re looking to take part in some of the amazing activities such as hiking or just relaxing at the best luxury accommodation in Cradle Mountain, there’s something for everyone.

How Long Should You Stay in Cradle Mountain?

Visiting Cradle Mountain is a unique luxury experience that should not be rushed. Whilst you can explore the stunning Dove Lake and take in the breathtaking views of Cradle Mountain in one day, it is highly recommended to stay at least two nights to really make the most of your luxury getaway.

With luxury Cradle Mountain accommodations ranging from cosy cabins tucked away in nature or luxury lodges with spectacular views, staying for more than just one night allows you to relax and enjoy all that this beautiful region has to offer. Plus, my favourite accommodation in Cradle Mountain, Tiny Escapes is so breathtaking the only regret you will have is not staying for longer!

Cradle Mountain Hotel Vs Lodge

From 5-star hotels with lavish amenities to cosy cabins nestled into nature’s beauty, these luxury Cradle Mountain Accommodation options promise an experience unlike any other – allowing you to truly appreciate nature’s beauty from its most breathtaking perspective!

Lodges and hotels are both luxury accommodations that offer luxury experiences in Cradle Mountain, but each has its own unique benefits. Hotels typically offer all-inclusive services such as onsite amenities like day spas and games rooms. This is great for those looking for an easy and convenient luxury experience with everything they need close by. Lodges provide the ultimate seclusion, so if you are looking for a romantic getaway, I would definitely opt to stay at a lodge!

Do you need a car in Cradle Mountain?

Unless you plan on booking a guided tour, exploring the spectacular Cradle Mountain region is best done by car.

With its stunning landscapes, lush forests, and rugged mountains, it’s a beautiful part of Tasmania and one you won’t want to miss. Driving around allows you to take in the sights at your own pace and visit areas that are off the beaten track.

Plus, public transport options in Tasmania are limited so having access to a car gives you more freedom and flexibility when visiting Cradle Mountain.

🚗 My top recommendation for car rental is Discover Cars 🚗 I personally used them on my last trip to Cradle Mountain and found them to be the most reasonably priced company in the area!

Final Verdict

All in all, there is a lot to consider when searching for the best luxury accommodation Cradle Mountain. However, we hope our guide has made things a little easier!

Tiny Escapes truly stands out as the ideal option for anyone looking for an intimate and luxurious getaway thanks to their cosy cabin-style pods.

Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge also offers some great opportunities with spa treatments, two restaurant options and peaceful views of the mountains.

Whatever you decide, you’re sure to have a relaxing stay with lots of memories to take away when it’s time to go home.
